From here:
http://www.bikelaw.com/2011/09/01/lost-art-of-the-group-ride/Every so often, I’ll ride a recreational group ride. I love the camaraderie of cyclists, the talk, the last minute pumps of air, the clicking in, and the easy drifting out as a peloton. “I miss riding in a group,” I’ll think to myself.
The magic ends by mile 10. The gro…[Read more]

Heads up for Mur de Twiss, expect the dip then steep wall out of there at km 33. We’ll take it cool and safe, and mind the yellow line on the way up.
As Andy mentioned below, this is my last week of club rides […]

I just realized there is one section of dirt road – in lieu of changing the whole route at this point, I just highlighted it on the map, at the top. Its about 1.2km long, and not that rough, so we should be […]

I’ll probably swing by. Wed is usually my hair washing and Thurs ride tactics planning night, but I’ll make an exception.

Heads up that 4th line will still be somewhat loose from recent chipsealing, but not terrible. So will Side Rd 10, the road that 4th turns into (heading east/west) at the south end, its on the docked for chip sealing this year too, but not sure if they’ve gotten to it yet.

With the Tour de Guelph tomorrow, there will just be the one group on the ride tomorrow (A & B groups effectively combined):

5pm – Ride is on. NOTE THE ROUTE CHANGE.
Since weather is so iffy tonight, Guelph lake loops to allow for cutting short at any time. 8pm looking like raintime.

Just along the eastern bit, right? From Puslinch townline to 1st line?

Back to school. With a big climb at the furthest point, regrouping at the top with all those who start the climb together is encouraged, but then full beans on the way home.
If anyone wants to cut out a section to make the ride shorter and much easier we could go left on appleby instead of going all the way to silly old Bell school line, then wait for hopefully not too long for the other riders to catch up. If we get bored waiting we can ride back and forth on appleby three or four times to pass time.
I also like the idea of waiting at the top of Bell school though, Bayden what is the limit on wait time? I don’t want to leave you behind but also can’t wait all night. Would it help if I carried your water bottles?
I can also lend you my climbing wheels.
Cory^^^^that’s funny. … did you mean ‘training wheels’, or ‘climbing wheels’..:-)
Well Mark, I meant climbing wheels but if you think Bayden needs training wheels, then he’s outta luck as I don’t have any.

FYI – we won’t have a ride leader available for this one – so the B group ride leader will sound you all off from the library at 6:30pm, and then you can split into two groups as usual by Arkel & Watson. Have fun, […]

Hey Gerard,
Good question – these rides on the forum are just member organized, so not affiliated with the club by the usual regulations, so yes anyone can join in.
I’m not sure of your riding background but feel free to join us if the plan sounds good to you!Bayden started the topic Saturday, June 12 – 10am in the forum Non-club Rides 6 years, 8 months ago
Long ride to Forks of the Credit. All welcome. This will be a +30km/hr , 4-5hr endurance type ride with some dirt sections.

Lets put it this way – If you wouldn’t do it in front of your own or your friend’s kids on the way to loan out a book, don’t do it there.
Hopefully that answers your inevitable follow ups, too.Bayden commented on the post, Thursday A/B June 11th ride | 6:30pm 6 years, 8 months ago
Anyone ridden 7th line recently to know how the potholes are doing?
Last time I rode there, it was a bit of a minefield near the edges of the road, before and after Everton.- Load More
Last Hammerfest for Bayden as (non) ride-leader. The silence speaks volumes. Can you hear it? We will miss you boyo.
Hey Bayden. Even we slowpokes will miss you! Hope all is great, wherever you are headed.
