Hey All…Saturday, September 16 is my brother’s 61st birthday and the day of this year’s Centurion C100 (mile) race up at Blue Mountain.

A bunch of us thought it would be fun to give Ron a birthday present by helping him get on the podium in the 60-70 year old category. If you’ve been on a ride with him this season you know he’s been training hard, so this won’t be a social ride–more like a brisk Tuesday B pace over 160 kms. The social part will come afterwards as we’re all invited to his campsite at Craigleith PP after the race for Belgian beers and BBQ.

Two or three people have confirmed so far and I’ve got a couple maybes. It would be great if you could let me know if you’re thinking about doing this so we can firm up plans (email address below). If you haven’t registered for the race yet, the price goes up from $139 – $149 on August 1, so Monday is the last day for the discounted rate. Here is the link to the webpage:

If you haven’t done the Centurion before it’s a challenging, well organized race with 4 major hills for a total of around 1,500m of climbing. All in all–a very satisfying day on the bike.

    Hoping to hear from you.

    Cheers,
