That is my proposal for tonites ride.
That said ... Katherine street was a bit torn up last time I had gone there. I tried to take a look w/ google maps but that picture isn't available. If anyone can fill us in on the roads condition.

As well, Jay you mentioned 29 being torn up in your neck of the woods? Still torn up?

Alternatively ...

What I propose here is not turning down arkel rd. but heading down to 34 and coming back up the watson berg for another 10 or so kms. making it a nice even 70(ish).

Bam.

Just for future reference, Downey Rd is closed just outside of Guelph as well.

Links won't work for me but yes still construcion on going on 29...not sure the route you have suggested but you can avoid the construction by going over to 5th line and down into Rockwood.

Route #2 will be fine as far as construction goes.

Route #1 would have about 400m of what may be soft and wet gravel by the looks of what they were doing this morning. This could be circumvented by continuing out to 5th line from Fergus then heading south to 22(Oustic) and back to 29 again then into Guelph lake...guessing it would add 5-7k to the ride and the ride over to 5th line from Fergus may be a little heavy on traffic but not ridiculously so.

Also you are right ...I believe Katherine street is still torn up for repaving....least it was a couple of weeks ago and they said construction will be 5 weeks.

With Tim and Mike running a little late and electing to attempt to chase only 5 of us rolled out last night for the Tuesday night ride. Since there was only 5 we elected to just roll along at a fast pace and leave the pirate tactics for another day. We did a nice smooth 70k that averaged about 36 kph by the time we hit town again but Mike and Tim never did manage to make contact with the group.

John got the Rockwood KOM while Kevin took Eden Mills and Watsonberg KOM and the Arkell Sprint.
