Here is an email from long time club member and friend Dave Scott.

Hello All!

It is that time of year, the warm weather is here and that means the bikes are hitting the road! As most of you know, raising money to fight Cancer is important to me because I HATE CANCER! (I really hate it now!) In 2008, with your help, I was able to raise over $4 000 for the Princess Margaret Hospital in the ride to Conquer Cancer. The ride moved me so much that I quickly signed up for the 2009 ride and had great plans to raise funds and ride again.

My my how quickly life can change. In the Spring Of 2009, I was diagnosed with a very rare type of Sarcoma Cancer, the tumour was big and involved my kidney, spine and several nerves of my spinal column. I was unable to ride in 2009 and won't be up for this year either, but a group of my close friends at the Guelph Fire Department are riding and would love your help. My second family at the firehall has supported Jacquie and the Girls and I for the past year and made me so proud to say I am a firefighter.

Please have a look at the attached letter and check out the websites. Sponsor someone you know or contact Steve Trento steve.trento@guelph.ca or Jon Puskas jonpuskas@hotmail.com to sponsor the Team. The Team would love to have any corporate sponsors for 2010 whose name would be displayed on their jerseys and to be part of a media campaign to boost awareness of the ride and the firefighter's team in April. Also check out the attachment for the CPR course, support Cancer research and learn how to save someone's life, great deal!

The Doctors at the Princess Margaret were and still are saving me, myself and all Cancer survivors are grateful for your generous support, please pass this on to your family and friends because together we can all make a difference!

Cheers...dave
