Sunday Nov 15th Gravel Ride

According to the forecast there most likely will not be a club gravel ride this Sunday. If for some miraculous reason the weather completely turns around, we will quickly post a ride. Check back if that should happen.

It should also be noted that we will keep trying to hold gravel rides until we can’t anymore. Limiting factors will be snow, rain, or temperatures below 5 degrees. After that you’re on your own out in the cold or on the road to Watopia.

Hope to see you soon, Rusty K.

Sunday Nov 1st 11 AM Gravel Ride

RIDE CANCELLED – We’ll try this one again next week.

Original Post: The forecast for this Sunday’s Gravel ride is “rain showers or flurries ” – so most likely will not run. Which will give you a chance to sleep in after too many mini Mars bars plus the time change and let you dream of this route running under (what is currently predicted to be) much warmer and better conditions next week.

Cancellation announcement for this ride will be made no later than 10 AM.

Sunday 10/18 Gravel – 11am – RIDE CANCELLED

Update #2: RIDE CANCELLED. Too wet and rainy. That won’t make for a good ride. Let’s hope next Sunday’s weather is better.

10am update: RIDE IS ON! The Weather Network can’t make up its mind if/when it’s going to rain. Pack a rain jacket just in case, and we’ll shortcut the route back if needed.

11 AM Start – Don’t Forget!

This Sunday’s gravel ride will take us south, on a rambling, exploratory route around Puslinch and then back up into Guelph

We will stop for a rest/refuel in Morriston. The ‘A Change of Pace’ restaurant is there if anyone needs a quick coffee. It’s recommended to carry your own fuel/snack just in case, though. We’ll stop on if deemed necessary by the group.

If the group splits, we will regroup throughout the ride and no one will be left behind. Try loading the course into your bike computer if you have one. RWGPS has lots of on-line help.

Sunday Oct 11th 11 AM Gravel Ride – All Members

11 AM Start – Don’t Forget!

This Sunday’s Gravel ride is a long-ish one. For those who missed the Floridale excursion a few weeks ago here’s another chance, yet a completely different route and direction.

We will have a ‘carry your own’ snack stop on the damn at Lake Belwood and a rest/re-fuel stop at the ‘Right Spot’ in Alma at halfway. Bring cash/card and a mask for that.

If the group splits, we will regroup throughout the ride and no one will be left behind. Try loading the course into your bike computer if you have one. RWGPS has lots of on-line help.

Sunday Oct 4th 11 AM Gravel Ride – All Members

RIDE CANCELLED – too wet and cold = frowny faces

This Sunday’s 70km Gravel ride is last year’s BGR (Big Gravel Ride) club event in reverse! This in-town multi surface route is best ridden when Guelphites are shuttered – the forecast is promising that at this point. If you didn’t ride this last year then you will be discovering some hidden gems in your own backyard. And if you did ride it last year, taking it the other way ’round will feel totally different!

However, the weather is looking less than optimal at this point. Final weather call will be made no later than 10 AM.

We have a rest/re-fuel stop in Farnham at 30 km. Bring cash/card and a mask.

If the group splits, we will regroup throughout the ride and no one will be left behind. Try loading the course into your bike computer if you have one. RWGPS has lots of on-line help.
