The weather doesn’t look to promising currently the call will be made by 8am Sunday morning. For the route we will head out past Guelph lake then head east on 22nd and come into Belfountain on the hilly side just in time for a coffee break. On the way back we will take 10th line to the edge of Georgetown and back out on 8th which should add some climbing in to the route. We approach Guelph through Eden mills and along Arkell.
Time to burn off all those Canadian treats consumed in the name of her 150th birthday (they grow up so fast don’t they?). We’ll take the southern tier out and back to the Forks of The Credit. Two options for a stop – Belfountain, or a quick detour into Erin for some bakery treats! An exercise in democracy will determine our choice. Its still rain season here so check in as call will be made by 8am.
The Ride is on. However, we will shorten the route to avoid some rain that is predicted to hit at noon. We will remove the Bellfoutain section and loop through Erin instead. We will keep an eye on the radar on route and make seem real time decisions about possibly adding to the route based on updated weather info.
For those of you not doing the Tour de Guelph here is an alternative ride. The actual distance back to our stoping point in Arkel is 97km. We have the option to shorten or lengthen the route depending on what people want to do before or once we are out on the road. No one will be asked to do a longer ride than they would wish to do. Food stop in Bellfountain.
RIDE CANCELLED Happy fathers day to all the fathers in the club. The forecast looks questionable the call will be made by 8am. We head south, then climb up rattlesnake and 6th line. Stop for a break in Acton, continue north before jogging over a few concessions and heading south into Rockwood and Eden Mills.
