The SRCC indoor winter training series is a go! Sessions will begin this Wednesday, January 28th at 7:00 p.m., and continue as such each week (i.e. Wednesdays, 7 pm) through to March 25, inclusive.
The location is new for this year… all sessions will be held at the Mill Street Lofts located at 26 Ontario Street, Guelph. Onsite visitor parking is limited, but on-street parking is also available. As you approach the main building/chimney from the lot you will see a smaller building on your left (you can’t miss it), which is where the group will be. Bring your bike, trainer, water and a towel for 1 – 1.5 hours of pure, sweat-stained enjoyment.
This series is free to all SRCC members, as costs are being covered by the club… with thanks to our generous sponsors, of course!
Those of you wanting to try riding the boards are encouraged to register for a Try the Track session.
The sessions at the Milton Velodrome are quite full so getting a dedicated session just for the SRCC will be difficult. I was out there watching the Canadian Track Championships the track looks fantastic. The website seems to be in much better shape now so if you were not able to register in Nov/Dec then try again now and you will hopefully have some better success.
The track will be open to the public the week of Jan 26 to certified riders.
The Speed River Cycling Club held its Annual General Meeting on December 8th, 2014 at the Guelph Public Library. Thanks to all who attended, as the member turnout and representation was quite good relative to previous years.
In addition to reviewing the past year’s activities and current club status, we elected a new volunteer executive to oversee the Club for the upcoming season. Your 2015 SRCC board of directors is as follows:
Gabhan Chalmers – president and ride coordinator
Bayden Pritchard – vice president
Steve Head – secretary and treasurer
Rob Nespolo – sponsorship director
James Stewart – communications director
Cory Darling – director at large
Adam Woods – director at large
Michael Dennis – director at large
Curtis Donnahee – director at large
Andy Mill – director at large
The club executive typically meets on the second Monday of each month, with the first meeting of 2015 scheduled for January 12th. Feel free to contact James Stewart (email@example.com or any of the SRCC board members with any issues that you’d care to see raised, or with your interest in attending a meeting. Otherwise, please reach any of us at any time with your thoughts, questions or concerns regarding your Speed River Cycling Club… we’re here to serve!
